LOCATED IN THE SIERRA FOOTHILLS

Our vineyard, located in the Sierra Foothills at 3000' elevation, was planted in 2007 with varied clones of Syrah, Grenache, Tannat and Cabernet Franc. The vineyard is planted on a rocky south facing slope that offers the vines an abundance of sunlight each day coupled with the cool nights found at our elevation during the growing season. The vines were carefully selected to assure performance in our environment with a need for plants that bud later in the growing season (to avoid late frost) and ripen early. FARMING PRACTICES

Our farming practices reflect a philosophy of "less is more". We recognize an obligation to be good stewards of our environment and that has led us to adopt sustainable farming practices throughout our operation. Through the use of organic fertilizers, fungicides and pesticides, manual weed control, and prudent water management we endeavor to have a "light" footprint on the land that we have been entrusted to farm. Pruning and canopy management are all done by hand, thus allowing us to provide the most effective support for the plants that are the source of fruit for our wines.
